Length of Trail: The trail is approximately 5.5 mile out and back along the Pacific Crest Trail. You can extend your ride along the Pacific Crest Trail.
Staging Area: There is a staging area on Highway 79, approximately 1 mile South of Warner Springs on same side of the road as the Fire station in a fenced, shaded dirt parking area. It is only 30 feet by 30 feet. Do not park in the school parking lot on the other side of the road.
There is another staging area which may be more appropriate for equestrians. It is on S22, approximately 2 miles west of S2. Take 79 towards Warner Springs. Continue on Highway 79 and turn right on S22. After approximately 2 miles, turn left on S22 towards Ranchita. The PCT is on your right after approximately 2 more miles. There is space off the road for several trucks and trailers, but no facilities. Bring water for your horses.

Trail Conditions: This is a moderate, well-maintained trail through oak woodlands, sycamore groves, along a creek and into open meadows. The highlight of the trail is Eagle Rock, which truly resembles a giant eagle with outspread wings. There are views of Lake Henshaw along the way.
Trail Users: The trail is open to hikers and horseback riders. Dogs are permitted on a leash.
